As I was watching TV, I saw a Silver Alert talking about a senior citizen who had gone missing with a Electric Car with a specific plate. Which got me to thinking, I had earlier assumed that the police were able to find cars through traffic cameras and toll booth cameras with the use of some image recognition software, Does anyone know if there actually is such a technology present at this point?
If there isn't, is there any major concern that prevents something like this from being implemented?
The traffic/toll booth cameras are used to bill and fine people, not used to catch people. The system is not designed for what you are thinking but probably could be if the state wanted to spend the money.
Silver alerts are for lost seniors. They might not even drive on the toll roads or streets with traffic cams.
